On Friday, Beaufort Park Hotel proudly welcomed a special event to celebrate lottery-funded website, Flintshire War Memorials.
The website tells the stories of the lives of Flintshire servicemen, along with the families they left behind.
At the special event, researchers told their stories to a special audience which included representatives from Flintshire County Council, the Welsh Assembly, the House of Commons and the House of Lords. There were also representatives from Civic Societies, The Royal British Legion, local business, schools and the media.
Eifion and Viv Williams set up the website in 2007 to publish their research into the WW1 names on their local parish memorial. Since then, the project has grown to encompass the whole of county.
A Lottery grant has enabled the project to grow and develop and it is now a community website with 24 people currently working on it.
