Last week, the 11th annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party in New Brighton helped to brighten the festive season for local pensioners.
Continuing a long tradition, the Beaufort Park Hotel, donated all of the turkey and accompaniments for the event, along with all of the Christmas puddings.
Local senior citizens were treated to a Christmas dinner and an afternoon of live entertainment thanks to the efforts of event organiser, Paul Jones, along with a number of local residents.
Supported by volunteers across the community, Paul's fundraising secured enough money to purchase party food and drink, as well as a gift from Santa for each of the pensioners.
Beccy Cliffe from Beaufort Park Hotel, said: “We're delighted that we were able to help again this year! Christmas is a wonderful time of year for lots of people, but it can also be a lonely time for many, particularly the elderly. This is a wonderful local initiative and we're very proud to play our part.”
